The Quinceanera that i photograph photos for on the Plaza a few weeks ago finally took place on June 3. For mass, it started at Holy Name of Jesus Parish right across the street from Strasser True Value Hardware. I had my youngest daughter with me to just help alone (nothing to serious). We arrive, came inside the church and met with the pastor who gave us a few rules and guild lines. He was a nice fellow and even allowed my daughter to shoot photos from above. Before the ceremony started i met with the videographer (Vale) who was very nice also. i was just letting her know that i will try to get out of her shot as much as possible and since she have done pleanty of Quinceanera's, i was asking her for some advice. Her company is called KC photo and Video.
As the service started, i got into gear and started taking photos that i love to do. Since i'm a bigger guy, i was trying to was around the room quietly as possible for different angles and perspective. As the service was about to end, Vale let me know that we should go down to the end of the isle to get them walking out of the church. After mass, we all waited on the party bus to show up for it to take the kids to liberty memorial for photos. Normally i wouldn't choose this time of the day to take photos as its to bright and sun is over head, but i didn't choose this time and just had to deal with it. It was very windy out so i didn't use any umbrellas of soft boxes, just natural light.
After Liberty Memorial, it was about a 2.5 hour break until the reception started, so my daughter wanted some biscuits from Churches Chicken, and we went home after that. While at home i uploaded the photos that i had on my 3 camera to the computer and to my server for 2 copies. Time was up, so we headed out to the reception at Shawnee Civic Center which is next to a public pool which was very packed. We ate some food which was the bomb, and i wished i had got some seconds but i was taking to Vale about photography and business and i my eyes, that was much more important that food. The event started, the teens did their dances that they practice so long for and about 20 minutes later, we left. But that time almost no one was on the dance floor anymore.
